I feel like street dances are a good representation, socially, culturally and economically, of a neighborhood/region. Harlem Shake is from Harlem, New York and ask anyone from Harlem about the dance and they’ll probably reaffirm the dance’s importance to the community.
So when I say better, I don’t mean the Harlem Shake sucks. I just mean that these dances should have some spotlight, even though the HS has a totally different type of attention. Fuck the Harlem Shake meme, though, seriously.
Anyway, read on, as I listed some dances I really dig for the Broward New Times County Grind.
